6.5 Assignment-Critical Reflection Journal-Blog
What is new to my thinking or learning this past week? How has this new information challenged me? How has this stretched my professional growth and development? What are the implications of this week’s learning on my professional practice? How can these new learnings be used to impact my personal faith journey and my impact for the Kingdom?
Another course has ended, and once again, my cup of knowledge is full and overflowing. Over the last several weeks, we’ve explored what Instructional Design is about. What does a good course design look like? How do we tie it all together in a way that best teaches the content? As we bring this week to a close, we evaluate the work we’ve done to determine how successful we were.
I’ve learned new terminology, techniques, and methods to create an effective course design. While I have taken my share of courses online until now, I have not thought about how it all comes together. After completing this course, I now understand the entire process and what it takes to take an idea for an online course and develop it into a finished product that learners will use.
The timing of this course couldn’t be timelier as I have been given an opportunity to create and develop a Student Success Course for students at City Vision University. I am excited to take my new knowledge and put it to work for students who will take this course to help them be more successful in their academic journey. What makes it even more rewarding is that the student audience that I will be developing this course for are students who have or are currently struggling with various life issues to better themselves. What’s even more exciting is because it is a Christian-based University, I can include a faith element in the course. I am excited to see how God will use me, what I have learned as I develop this course, and how it will impact the kingdom.
